On December 17th, 1903, Orville and Wilbur Wright successfully achieved the first ever airplane flights right here in North Carolina! Their memorial still stands today in North Carolina's Kill Devil Hills Memorial Park. At this historic site in North Carolina's Outer Banks, you can see the exact takeoff and landing points where that famous flight took place.
