Engine Options for the 2023 Dodge Charger
Four engines make up the lineup of available powertrains for the 2023 Dodge Charger. Powering the SXT and GT trim levels is a 3.6-liter V6 engine that puts out 303 horsepower and 268 pound-feet of torque. The engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission powering the rear wheels as standard equipment. However, all-wheel drive is exclusively available for these two trims. Stepping up to the R/T trim level gives you 370 horsepower and 395 lb-ft of torque from the legendary 345-cubic inch 5.7L HEMI V8. The Scat Pack levels up once more with a 392-cubic inch 6.4L HEMI V8 that rips out 485 horsepower and 475 lb-ft of torque. The Hellcat Redeye comes with a supercharged 6.2L HEMI V8 engine that shakes the pavement with 797 horsepower and 707 lb-ft of torque. Meanwhile, selecting a Jailbreak model gets you an extra ten horsepower, taking the horsepower to 807!
What Are the Trim Levels and Features of the 2023 Charger?
The 2023 Dodge Charger lineup is impressive, to say the least. Kicking off the lineup is the SXT trim, which includes impressive exterior features like remote engine start, power-adjustable side mirrors with a heating element, LED tail lights, LED daytime running lights, passive entry, LED headlights, remote keyless entry, and 17-inch alloy wheels. Getting inside, you'll find black Houndstooth cloth upholstery, a leather-wrapped tilt/telescoping steering wheel, analog gauges on either side of a digital driving information screen, a 7-inch Uconnect 4 touchscreen, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, an 8-way power-adjustable driver's seat, push-button start, and more. The GT trim adds more, including steering wheel paddle shifters, a rear lip spoiler, a more aggressive fascia, performance-tuned suspension, a functional hood scoop, 20-inch alloy wheels, performance seat bolsters, and a flat-bottom steering wheel. The R/T trim adds electronically controlled Active Exhaust, an 8.4-inch Uconnect 4 touchscreen with Dodge Performance Pages, dual-zone automatic climate control, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, adaptive cruise control, and more. The Scat Pack takes it even further with four-piston Brembo high-performance brakes, launch control, line lock, dual Bright exhaust outlets, and more. The Hellcat Redeye trim comes with Race Cooldown and SRT Power Chiller to enhance the supercharger's performance.
What is the Dodge Last Call Lineup?
As we mentioned above, the 2023 model year is, sadly, the last of the Dodge Charger in its current form. However, Dodge makes the Charger's exit bittersweet with the Last Call lineup of special editions as well as previously discontinued color options, including Destroyer Grey, B5 Blue, Sublime, and Plum Crazy. The first Last Call special edition is the Super Bee. Using the Scat Pack as its platform, the Super Bee features exclusive hood and fender graphics as well as a black Mopar hood pin kit, red Brembo brake calipers, black SRT exhaust tips, the SRT performance hood, and adaptive damping suspension with drag mode. The next Last Call model is the Swinger, paying homage to the 1970s Dodge Charger Swinger. This retro-styled special edition is based on the Scat Pack and features a retro 'Swinger' graphic on the rear fenders. Meanwhile, other standard features include Gold School gold exterior badging, 20-by-11-inch Gold School alloy wheels, black six-piston Brembo brakes, mod-grain simulated wood aluminum bezels, Nappa leather/Alcantara seats, and Basil green interior accent stitching. The Swinger is available in F8 Green, White Knuckle, and Sublime. Last but certainly not least is the King Daytona. The Charger King Daytona special edition is built upon the Hellcat Redeye with 807 horsepower and 707 lb-ft of torque. The King Daytona comes exclusively in GoMango orange and features black King Daytona graphics on the rear fenders. It features a Bright Mopar hood pin kit, Satin Chrome exterior badging, a Satin Black spoiler, 20-by-11-inch Satin Carbon Warp Speed alloy wheels, orange Brembo brake calipers, orange interior accent stitching, and more.
